According to the 2022 American Society of Plastic Surgeons Procedural Statistics Release, Brazilian butt lifts (BBLs) have increased by 2% since 2019, with 28,638 people having the procedure. In other words, improving the appearance of your bum is a popular option!
Dr. Stephen Chen and his staff understand that how you look has an enormous impact on how you feel about yourself, and that, in turn, affects how you interact with others. When you feel great about your appearance, you’re more confident. Our patients who have a BBL often report that having the procedure improves their confidence in sometimes surprising ways.
There are two basic types of butt augmentation. The first is silicone butt implants, and the second is a Brazilian butt lift.
A BBL involves removing fat from one part of your body, then using it to change the shape of your butt. Most of the time, fat is removed from your abdomen, thighs, or lower back, then Dr. Chen uses it to add volume to your butt, changing its shape.
For every person who chooses to have a BBL, you’ll find a different set of reasons. Some of the common ones include:
All sorts of things influence the shape of your body. Diet and exercise play an important part, of course, but can only get you so close to your goal. Genetics dictates how you’re shaped to some degree. And time, too, can make a big difference.
We can help you achieve the contour you want. You can get a smoother, more toned butt, improve the shape of your butt, and get the curves you want.
Not everyone is a good candidate for a BBL. You need to be in good health overall and be at a stable body weight. If you’re on a weight loss journey, it’s best for you to reach your goal and remain there for some time before seeking a BBL.
You also need to have some body fat to be transferred. You may not be a good candidate if you’re very thin, without any excess fat to be transferred.
Finally, you need to have some elasticity in your skin. A BBL can’t help improve sagging skin; you may need a different procedure to address that problem.
