What types of breast surgery do you offer?

Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation uses silicone or saline implants to enhance your breasts’ shape and size. Dr. Chen may also use fat grafting for a more naturally enhanced breast size. 

Breast lift

Your aesthetic concern may not be about your breasts’ size but their profile. If you have breasts that are sagging due to breastfeeding or weight loss, a breast lift raises their position to give you a more youthful, perky chest. Am I a good candidate for breast surgery?

Women 18 years or older are eligible for breast surgery. Good candidates are also in generally good health and don’t smoke. Smoking makes it harder for your body to heal.

What should I expect during and after breast surgery?

The details of your surgery depend on the goals of your procedure. Dr. Chen performs breast surgery while you’re under general anesthesia, and he places incisions in less prominent locations to minimize the appearance of scarring. He finishes by dressing the incision sites and placing small tubes to facilitate drainage of excess fluid and blood. 

After you’ve come out of anesthesia and your vitals are stable, Dr. Chen sends you home to continue recovery. Breast surgery rarely requires an overnight stay. 

You’ll have swelling and soreness for several weeks after surgery. Dr. Chen may provide you with a compression bandage to support your healing chest. Use over-the-counter or prescription pain medications to manage discomfort. 

Most patients can return to work within a few weeks but should refrain from vigorous physical activity until cleared by Dr. Chen.
